JUROR: LINDA WISE
As a manager for a garbage
company, it never ceases to
amaze Linda Wise the amount
of waste humans generate.
Objects seem to lose their
usefulness so quickly in our
society. But many things are
still useful. Most items that
are placed in the trash can
either have multiple purposes
or can be used as raw materials
that can be transformed into
building materials, playground
mats, new containers, compost,
energy, and ART! When Linda
goes to the dump, she doesn't
see waste. She sees the potential
to sculpt cows, warrior women,
or gates. She lets the objects she
finds give her direction to what
forms the sculptures will take--
whether abstract, serious, or
whimsical.
