Humboldt Arts Council presents an exhibition open to all photographers residing in the Pacific Northwest: Northern California (from Monterey Bay north), Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Yukon Territory, and Alaska.

ENTRY DEADLINE

Entries will only be accepted from 3 – 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Morris Graves Museum of Art.

EXHIBITION DATES

May 14 - July 5, 2009 in the Thonson Gallery.

• Grand Prize: $1,000
• Five Best of Show Awards for $250 each

JUROR - Dennis High
JUROR PRESENTATION: Friday, May 8 at 6 pm

Dennis is the Executive Director of The Center for Photographic Art (formerly The Friends of Photography)
in Carmel, California.

FORMAT
All photography media accepted: black & white, color, Polaroid, digital prints and non-silver process prints may be submitted.  Diptychs, triptychs or multiples must be printed on one sheet of paper to be considered as a single entry. Image size no larger than 11 x 14”.  Mats MUST be 16 x 20” and white.  All prints must be securely mounted on a stable support, and matted.  Framed prints will not be accepted.  There are no specific thematic limitations.

ENTRY FEE
$15 for each photo.  Maximum of 3 entries.  Please make checks payable to: Humboldt Arts Council

RULES OF ENTRY
Each entry must be submitted with a fully completed registration label (photocopies or faxes acceptable).  Each registration label must include the entrant’s name, title of print, image size, photographic process, date, and insurance/sale value.  No slides will be accepted. The HAC receives 40% on all gallery sales.  If requested, proof of insurance value must be provided.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Artists are responsible for shipping costs. All entries must arrive with self-addressed FedEx prepaid packaging in which to return the work, with packaging and prepaid FedEx label, or with packaging and request to return the work to artist c.o.d. Please include insurance in shipping. Submissions without provisions for return postage will not be returned. The Humboldt Arts Council is not responsible for artworks damaged in transit due to inadequate or insufficient packaging. 
 
Copyright ownership of all entries remains with the photographer.  The Humboldt Arts Council retains the right to reproduce the image for its own archival records and/or to publicize and promote this photographic exhibition.  

PORTFOLIO REVIEW
Portfolio Review is an arranged brief meeting with the juror, normally 15 to 20 minutes in length with the bjective to review the artists work and give feed back that would assist the artists in areas which would be beneficial in
the forward movement of the artists work both aesthetically as well as commercially.

Portfolio Reviews will be available for $15 by reservation on:

Friday, May 8th from 10:00-11:45 and 12:45-2:00
Saturday, May 9th from 9:30-11:15 and 12:15-3:45
