Michael Dieter and Nola Pierce Michael Dieter and Nola Pierce came together for an art gallery performance a while back when a local artist asked them to compose and perform some music to go along with the event. Finding the collaboration to be a success they kept up with it. Nola Pierce, being a founding member of local vocal group AKAbella and folk groups Vintners' Daughters and Queen Moss, is no stranger to tight vocal harmonies. Spending time more recently honing in on her song-craft and instrumentalism, she brings a strong contribution to the project. Michael Dieter has played bass in many groups, local and non, including Ponche, Miles Ahead, Vintage Soul, and the Drifters. More recently he has take time to shed up on his guitar chops as well as work on compositions. Using folk-finger-style guitar, percussion, bass, banjo, tape samples and good old-fashioned songwriting the two create a blend of Americana and swirling cinematic textures, striving for a large, open sound to parallel our western wilds. |
