Magnolia
Magnolia leans swing but one never knows when an old rock or Motown tune will happen. Versatility is their hallmark. They’ve rocked the Arcata Plaza and waltzed at the Morris Graves Museum. From Gershwin to Beatles, Doris Day to Stevie Wonder and originals that JUMP- There’s always a surprise with Magnolia.  Magnolia is made up of: Kathy Lee on vocals/violin, Brad Werren on trumpet/vocals, Douglas Kamprath on drums, Jeffrey Smoller on guitar and Kevin Johnson on Bass.

In partnership with KEET-TV and the Ready-to-Learn initiative, the Humboldt Arts Council and the Morris Graves Museum of Art will offer FREE monthly workshops for children, families, and childcare providers.

These FREE monthly workshops will be lead by Jackie Hamilton from KEET-TV and take place on the first Saturday of every month from 12-2pm. The workshops are geared to provide opportunities for youth (2-8 years old) to develop critical reading and comprehension skills.

Summer of Art Film Series: Art Films from Independent Lens

Revolucion

REVOLUCION: Five Visions tells the story of five Cuban photographers whose lives and work span more than four decades and whose perspectives on photography are as varied as their opinions about the Cuban Revolution. From Epic-era photographers whose lenses portrayed the heroic masses to more contemporary photographers who seek to portray individual truths, their stories discover the power of art to liberate. Co-production of ITVS in association with LPB.

OPEN JAZZ JAM SESSIONS
Join us each Third Sunday of the month from
2 to 4:30 pm.

Each session will include a performance by local jazz artists, a talk on some aspect of Jazz history and a jam during which guest musicians are invited to join that Sunday’s performing group. Players and singers who wish to play may sign up, list a tune, and perform. Admission is free, although donations are always welcome.

Every 4th Sunday of the month at 2pm enjoy a Museum Tour with trained docents to learn about the Museum’s history, permanent collection, and current exhibitions while sipping tea and meeting new friends!
