Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Morris Graves Museum of Art with the Humboldt Arts Council!

The Morris Graves Museum of Art has reached a milestone this year—the 10th Anniversary as the premiere art museum on the North Coast! Planned is a full year of celebrations including honoring the artists and community members who supported the restoration and renovation of the Historic Carnegie Library into the Morris Graves Museum of Art.
In celebration of the 10th Anniversary, Loleta artist Jim McVicker spent many mornings this past October outside of the MGMA creating the painting a truly spectacular interpretation of the Museum.
This beautiful painting memorializes the Historic Carnegie and the first ten years of the MGMA in our community. As part of this year-long celebration, the Humboldt Arts Council will be raffling off two wonderful works of art.
Purchase tickets for $10 each at the Morris Graves Museum of Art and all proceeds from the raffle go to benefit the Museum.
Jewelry designer Bonnie Stephens has created a lovely pendant and it can be seen in person throughout the year at Graystone Jewelers. In honor of Morris Graves’ Centennial Birthday Anniversary, the beautifully framed Graves’ print “Magnolia” will also be up for raffle.
The raffle will be held on December 4th, 2010 during Arts Alive! Join us throughout the year for exciting exhibitions featuring well-known local artists Floyd Bettiga, Melvin Schuler and Glenn Berry, help us celebrate the Cenntenial Anniversary of Morris Graves’ birthday by attending our two Chamber Music and Fine Art Concert Series, and enjoy the many free monthly programs such as Second Saturday Family Arts at the MGMA.
Each First Saturday Night Arts Alive! Ramone’s Bakery will be providing anniversary cake—stop in and have a slice while enjoying the many exhibitions on view.
